Itinerary
This is a sample itinerary describing the major sights and activities of the Exotic Cappadocia tour. Your actual itinerary will be hand crafted for you and your group taking into account seasons, weather, operating hours and other circumstantial details. One thing that won’t change is our desire to give you the experience of a lifetime!
Day 1 – Arrive in Cappadocia
Arrival in Istanbul. Flight from Istanbul to Kayseri, Cappadocia.. Transfer to hotel. Explore on your own. Optional walking tour or museum visit (map and printed guide provided). Evening group orientation and meet & greet. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 – Rock Formations and Cave Dwellings
Breakfast at the hotel. Coach tour of Devrent ( or Imaginary) Valley and Monk`s Valley (Pasabagi) to see unusual rock formations and the world-renowned fairy chimneys. Group lunch. Afternoon visit to the Goreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Dark Church, Cappadocia’s most famous cave church, and see the bright, well-preserved paintings that adorn its walls.
Day 3 – Hot Air Balloons and a Rock Hewn Monastery
Start the day with an early morning Hot Air Ballon ride, followed by brunch out. Coach tour of the Red Valley. Explore the famous rock-cut churches of Gulludere Valley, including the outstanding frescoes at the historic Gümüşler Monastery. Brief stop at Kemerhisar to view the Roman ruins. Lunch in Bor at a traditional carpet-weaving center. If time allows, visit to Kaymakli underground city where early Christians lived in fear and faith. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 – Ilhara Valley and the Derinkuyu Underground City
Breakfast at the hotel. Coach tour of the Ihlara Valley, including stops at a few of the 50 churches reflecting different historical influences, incuding the rock-hewn Selime Monastery church, the largest religious buildng in Cappadocia. Awe-inspiring views of the Ihlara Valley showcase the beauty of Turkey’s Cappadocia region. Lunch at the quaint village of Belisirma. Afternoon tour of the underground city of Derinkuyu offers a peak into Byzantine-era civilization. Special traditional Turkish dinner.
Day 5 – Return Flight to Istanbul
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for a return flight to Istanbul. Transfer to Hotel in Sultanhamet quarter. Lunch on your own and free time for last minute shopping or sightseeing in Istanbul. Fairwell dinner. Reminisce with your newfound friends about adventures in exotic Cappadocia!
Day 6 – Departure
Transfer to the airport 4 hours prior to departure.
