We have held Kashana Hut close to our hearts since we first met them back in 2018. The previous year, they suffered a catastrophic fire that gutted the main building but limped along using outbuildings to serve a limited number of guests as they planned to rebuild the main building. We organized a Kashana Hut Service Project to help them clear debris and perform other useful tasks in response to their need.
Six years later, they have completely renovated the hut. It is warm and inviting, and there seems to always be something delicious in the oven.
This year, we are making improvements in the courtyard, adding a gazebo as an outdoor gathering spot for guests of the hut. We have built these before, and they are always a big hit and get a lot of use. While there we will again take part in additional cleaning and maintenance chores as time and resources allow.
